Facial hair will be allowed but should be kept properly trimmed when in uniform. Chest hair should not protrude in an unsightly manner above the collar of the white polo or khaki shirt. Male Marine veterans are not allowed to wear any body piercing which are visible while in uniform.  Women Marine veterans are permitted to wear studded earrings & makeup while in uniform but not to be eccentric and detract from the Marine Corps Veterans Association uniform.  Active Marines must adhere to Marine Corps standards. Good judgment is the key to the enforcement of these standards.

Personnel serving as Honor Guard or Color Guard will be held to a higher standard of personal grooming then prescribed above.

FINAL NOTE REGARDING WEARING OF THE MCVA UNIFORM

MCVA uniforms are authorized for wearing only at MCVA sanctioned events, and while traveling to or from such events.

We should always attempt to portray an image of professionalism when conducting MCVA official business while in or out of uniform, with this in mind these regulations were written as a guide.  When in uniform any inappropriate behavior would reflect adversely on the reputation of the Marine Corps Veterans Association.

We should wear our uniform with the same pride we had during our days of military service Always remember, we are the few, the proud, the Marine Corps Veterans Association.
